Level 7 Blank Slate
Ranked as Town Watch
It's about 6 months till the new year, and hopefully 6 months till the release of my movie.
With the storyboard, script, animatic, and voice actors all dealt with, im trying to get the 3d rough draft finished so I can start on the final stages of the movie : voice recordings, final animation, and post.
I don't really have a musician on the project so I am also creating the soundtrack, not my speciality but ill try my best to make it non-intrusive and not just total crap hah.
As I expected, the biggest issues with creating this movie is my own motivation and constantly fighting procrastination. What with Just Cause 2 going on sale for 3 dollars, fucking how is anyone expected to get any work done? It's some bullshit, but it's also so much damn fun.
Hopefully 6 months to mostly work on animations will be enough. It's daunting as it's very easy to fall into the habit of making robotic, crappy looking, or slow actions and movements. I think I know how I'm going to do all the animations, and it'll hopefully give me the flexibility to manage each action and ensure it all looks realistic.
Ive seen some college level 3d short movies and have noticed a constant flaw when it comes to animation fluidity. Either the animator made every movement flow perfectly into eachother (very unnatural looking) or they add strange delays between actions (even worse). So I hope my method will work, I have only tested it a bit in the rough draft, and it SEEMS decent, but intill I see fully modelled and textured models doing these actions itll be hard to tell.
I also have plans to start working on a game as soon as this movie is done, a project Ive had in the back of my mind for half a decade, itll be pretty exciting to start working on it, a 3d side-scrolling action/platformer. It'll be a unity project, the only real challenge is finding a programmer, a programmer who sticks around... and is also interested in the project... yeah.
